Q:Anything new with Valentine?

Nothing new with Lavonte Valentine. He has picked up new offers this spring including one from Notre Dame. The Gators are in the mix with several running backs including Dameon Pierce and Asa Martin - who are two prospects Florida has higher on its board. If the Gators wanted to press the Melbourne Central Catholic standout, I believe Valentine would be close to pledging. At this time I think teams like South Carolina are on him a bit harder.

Q: Are we in a good spot for Jordan Davis? Both the DE committed to Bama and the DT from mallard creek?

I think Alabama is still the team to beat for Southwind defensive end Jordan Davis. Davis is committed to the Crimson Tide and recently visited for their spring game. However, he has family in Jacksonville and should visit some point in the summer. The Gators are the team that could post the biggest threat to Alabama.

As far as the Jordan Davis from Mallard Creek, I think North Carolina and Miami are the teams slightly ahead at the moment. Things could change if he were to visit Gainesville in the next few months.

Q: Will George Takacs choose soon and if so do we have a chance or is he all ND?

George Takacs has said he wants to take more visits before deciding, so expect him to do so this summer. I think Notre Dame is the favorite. Although he is living in Naples, Fla., he just moved to the Sunshine State three years ago. Takacs is originally from Indianapolis.

Q: Any positive news on Judge Culpepper ?

Judge Culpepper has always been a prospect that is favorably leaning towards Florida. There is nothing new to report with the Gators legacy, however. He has visited LSU and is expected to visit several Big Ten schools soon.

Q: Quick update on QBs

Justin Fields- I think there is a chance here, however, those I speak to say his family, particularly his dad, likes Penn State. I think Florida is the school that has the best chance to flip.

Joe Milton- Florida has cooled it here. I think if the Gators were to push things would be different, but right now Michigan continues to the top favorite.

I think former Kentucky commit Jarren Williams and Miami pledge Artur Sitkowski

Q:So what is the rule about satellite camps? Does it depend on the conference?

The NCAA wants to put some restrictions on these camps. In April they decided  schools' camps or clinics are now limited to a 10-day period in June or July, and must take place on campus or at a facility normally used by that program. The rule is effective immediately, however there is an exemption if the school reached an agreement prior to Jan. 18.

Q: As of today do you think we have the best chance to land Nicholas Petit-Frere?

Never say never, but it will be very difficult to land him at Florida at the moment.

Q: Not that it is the end all be all, BUT... will we get a 5 star commit?

I think the Gators are in the mix for several five-star players including: Trinity CB Tyreke Johnson, who I have mentioned a few times the last few weeks as a player that has praised UF a lot more recently.

Q: Do the coaches have some big visit weekend cooking in June?

Florida is expecting plenty of top recruits to visit this summer, obviously Friday Night Lights in July is going to be the biggest gathering of the summer. Jim McElwain and company will hold its annual 7-on-7 and big man camp on June 2nd, and many top prospects are expected to attend.

Q: Is there a 5 star WR or athlete in our recruiting picture? Or high 4 star? Who?

Several.  Here are just some that Florida is in the mix for:

Q: How many RB's are we going to recruiting in this class?

Looks like two will be the magic number at running back.

Q: Your guess as to the o-line class?

I think at the moment two targets stand out the most (and honestly are the two biggest targets on the board):

Both William Barnes and Richard Gouraige are two Florida targets that I feel is leaning the most to the Gators at the moment. They are two that I would place in my 2018 class right now. There are a few other lineman that we will be monitoring including John Campbell, who I think right now is leaning towards Miami.

Q: Can you see us getting 1-2 big OL commits before mid summer? Does the staff think of the momentum/impact that can be had with that?

I think Gouraige is the lineman most likely to pledge before the end of the summer. Barnes has often voiced his interest to take more visits in the fall. Campbell is also another one that could make his decision prior to the summer, however, as mentioned above, things need to turn with hm.

Obviously the staff want to land guys this summer so that they can build momentum into the season, which has a great  home slate this season, which mean bigger recruiting weekends. I think Gouragie, Burney and Asa Martin are just three of the guys that could come in the summer. I feel more confident with the first two, however. There are a few others in the mix that could possibly pop. Top defensive end Malcolm Lamar has voiced a preference to announce on signing day, however, there is also some noise that a decision could come sooner - he is a Florida lean.

Q: Is Rosendo Louis going to get an offer? What's the LB board looking like?

Rosendo Louis continues to be evaluated at the staff, at the moment these are the names Florida is focused on:

**Top target**

Q: Hi guys, do you think that any of our recruits would take advantage of the early signing period (does that start this recruiting cycle?)?

I do think there might be interest in the early signing period. Florida pledge Iverson Clement has already stated he wants to sign early.

Q: Who is the "playmaker" we want to replace Callaway?

Jacob Copeland is the name high on the wide receiver board for the Gators. Florida is constantly on the four-star wide receiver and I think that attention has made the Gators the team to beat for him right now.

Q: Priorities in order at RB for 2018 ?

**Although Pierce and Martin are honestly tied at the top**

Other running backs in the mix that Florida would take in a heart beat:

Although Cook and Lingard are two top targets, UF is more focused on the first two above but have not given up with the two latter ones. Lingard is one the Gators would love to steal from Miami.

Q: Are we recruiting a place kicker if Eddy goes pro?

The Gators are keeping an eye out and evaluating talent at this position, no name in connection however has been cemented.
