Top 2019 athlete Derick Hunter visits Florida and continues to have Gators as a top school.

Derick Hunter made his return to Gainesville on Tuesday. The top 2019 playmaker has continued to have Florida near the top of his list, so where did this latest trip to the Swamp place the in-state school? Hunter discusses his latest visit with UF with

Derick Hunter is no stranger to the Swamp, however, the top 2019 athlete ventured back to Gainesville on Tuesday and it was a visit that had a few surprises in store for the Fort Myers, Fla. native.

"I had a good time on the visit," said Hunter after his trip to Gainesville. "Today (Tuesday) was the first time I actually got the tour of the campus. It as awesome and then just to sit down and talk to [UF offensive coach [Doug] Nussmeier and talk about some things and just see the players work out was good."

Hunter says he got to see every part of the campus which is something he enjoyed immensely.

"Basically the school has its own bowling alley and barber shop," he explained. "It's like its own mini-mall. It was awesome."

Apart from the the scenery, his true takeaway came when he spoke one-on-one with offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.

"It felt good talking to him one-on-one. We talked about his ideas for me and everything. It was good," said the Dunbar High School standout. "They are looking at me for both sides of the ball if I go there."

According to Hunter, Florida sees him fitting in because "the defensive schemes fit" and how "aggressive" he is on the field. In April, Hunter told that Florida was pulling ahead of his other suitors, however, since then Hunter's recruitment has exploded. So with yet another visit in the books to Gainesville, has the Gators regained control as a top school?

"It still is [a top school]," he said. "It's just coach Nussmeier just shows me so much love. Coach Mac [head coach Jim McElwain] too and everybody shows me just so much love when I go there. I just feel at home at Florida. It is just the right fit for me."

Although the Gators are still high on his list, UCLA and Oregon are also schools he is considering heavily.

"They have just been recruiting me the hardest right now," he said.  "Oregon they have showed me a lot of love, UCLA too, they actually thought that I wasn't even interested in them, but they are showing me if I wanted to be a Bruin you would be the perfect fit and we will make sure you are family and you're treated like you're at home."

Hunter says he has no more set visits at this time since he is preparing for the upcoming season, however, he says he believes he will "slip a visit in there now and then."
