Florida football's recruiting momentum continued on Monday morning, when Jim McElwain and his staff added JUCO safety Deontai Williams to the 2018 class. Williams took to twitter this morning to make his decision public.
The defensive back from Duval County made his pledge after visiting campus on Saturday for the mini camp. The 6-foot, 178-pounder might be familiar to some Gators fans since he was once a pledge to Florida coming out of high school. He committed to Will Muschamp and his staff in 2015, however, flipped to Georgia and then to Ohio before failing to qualify.
Williams chose Florida over other offers from LSU and Alabama.
This is Florida's third 2018 pledge this month, as Amari Burney and Taylor Upshaw have both made their pledges since the beginning of the month. He is also the fifth overall commitment in June, since UF added two commits in the 2019 class as well.
