"I miss the cooking that's for sure," Watkins said. "I just realized that there was a better opportunity for me in Florida. I am happy the way things turned out. It has worked out very well for me."
"Right now, I like Florida, FSU, Miami, LSU, Purdue, Maryland, NC State and Michigan State. But I am still looking at a lot of schools. The main thing is getting the education. I want to do something in Business Management. I am looking at all the rosters. I know regardless of where I go I will work hard. I will take all my visits and see what is out there."
Watkins is an athletic tackle that also plays tight end. He is at his best on the move.
"My biggest strength is pulling. I love it. In pass pro, I have long arms and good feet so it's hard for them (the opposition) to get around me. Basketball has really helped with my footwork."
Two weeks ago, Watkins went down to Coral Gables for the Florida/ Miami game. Last weekend he was in Gainesville for the Gators and Rattlers. This weekend, he plans on going back to Florida as they host Tennessee in a huge SEC Eastern Divisional game.
Watkins is cousins with former Georgia Tech standout wide receiver Kerry Watkins. He also played at Reserve (La.) East St. John's High School with Kirston Pittman (LSU). This past summer, Watkins camped at Florida and LSU. He carries a 3.5 grade point average and has already scored a 950 SAT and 19 ACT. Watkins also has two interesting nicknames.
"They call me "Big Country" in football because I am from Louisiana and "The Wall" in basketball because when someone runs into me they fall down."
