Gerald Riggs Likely to Visit Florida

Running back Gerald Riggs is showing a lot of interest in the Florida Gators and the Gators are showing a lot interest in Mr. Riggs.

Gerald Riggs, Jr. continues to have a dominating senior campaign and he is showing why he is one of the most coveted running backs in the nation. In five games, he has rushed for 1,016 yards and 17 touchdowns. Riggs, 6-0 and 214 pounds, plays for Chattanooga (Tenn.) Redbank High School. In regards to recruiting, there is a new college football power in the mix.

"Florida has shown a lot of interest in me lately," said Riggs. "I have been talking with them. They are a team that is always in the hunt. You can see what a versatile back can do in their offense. Look at what Fred Taylor did for them. It could be a good situation for me.

"Right now, I know I will officially visit LSU (10-6), Tennessee, Michigan and Nebraska for sure. My last visit will go to Florida or Auburn. I am trying my best to get to a game in Gainesville. If I do and I like it, I will probably visit them officially."

Riggs will attend the LSU/Tennessee game this weekend. Last season as a junior, Riggs rushed for over 2,500 yards and 37 touchdowns.
