Herring Postpones Visit to Gainesville

Linebacker Chris Herring was scheduled to visit Florida this past weekend but he decided to switch his official visit to January.

One of the top prospects in Mississippi, Chris Herring, was supposed to officially visit the Florida Gators this past weekend, but the defensive prospect has postponed his trip.

"I spoke with the Florida coaches this past week and we decided to change it to sometime in January," said Herring. "I will visit LSU (10-6) this weekend, Auburn (11-17), Tennessee (11-24) and Georgia (12-7). I also like Ole Miss and Mississippi State but I will likely not visit those teams officially because I have been there so much."

Herring, from Batesville (Miss.) South Panola High School, has over 50 tackles, 2 sacks and 4 interceptions so far this season. South Panola is 3-2 thus far. Herring, 6-2 and 260 pounds, plays linebacker at the high school level but he will likely be a defensive lineman at the next level.
