Williams Now Has A Leader

WR Michael Williams now has a leader - the Florida Gators.

Florida's victory over Mississippi State was impressive and a wide receiver recruit has taken notice.

"Man, nobody throws the ball like the Florida Gators," said wide receiver Mike Williams. "They were throwing the football all over the place on one of the best defenses. That is what I like to see. Right now, Florida is my leader."

Williams, from Tampa (Fla.) Plant High School, attended the MSU/Florida game over the weekend. Williams also likes Florida State, Georgia, Purdue, Virginia and Southern Cal.

"My top three schools are Florida, Florida State and Purdue. Florida is my favorite. Right now, I have visits set up for Virginia (12-7) and Southern Cal (12-21)."

Williams, 6-5 and 205 pounds, has 12 receptions for 230 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season. He also plays strong safety. Williams has 14 tackles and 2 interceptions. Last season as a junior, Williams caught 19 passes for 826 yards and 12 touchdowns.
