Texas DT Eyeing Gators

UF may trail the Sooners and Longhorns for this defensive tackle but they find themselves in Franklin Okam's top four. This DT from Dallas plans on visiting Florida in January. Okam is the nation's No. 2 rated defensive tackle in the country.

Defensive tackle Franklin Okam is one of the very best prospects from the Lone Star State. This standout from Dallas (Texas) Lake Highlands has it narrowed down to four schools with two leaders.

"Right now I would say Oklahoma and Texas are my favorites," Okam said. "The Sooners are No. 1 and they look great. They have won without the big names and now they are landing the big recruits. Who knows how good they can get? I get a good vibe about Texas. It's a great school in a great city. They played the Sooners tough but just couldn't get the breaks they needed. They have played well since."

Right now, Texas (12-12) will get an official visit in December and Florida in January. He will set up officials to Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Okam is down to those four schools.

"A&M is struggling but they have great tradition. I know there is a great opportunity to play early and I like Coach Fran. Florida is a school where I know I can play early. They are doing well and playing a lot of young players. That was an awesome game they played yesterday against FSU. They are going to be great in a few seasons."
