Florida is recruiting tight ends and Rory Nicol and Markell Thompson recently visited Gainesville. Another tight end UF is recruiting is Octavious Darby but for now, Darby is trying to win a state championship this weekend.
Tight end Octavious Darby
is one of the top tight end prospects in the nation. Darby and his teammates at Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna High School will play for the state championship on Friday against Madison (Fla.) Madison County High School in Gainesville, Florida
. For Darby, that's his main concern right now.
"We have to finish strong," Darby said. "We lost to Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles last year in the championship. Now we have to finish the job. Once we win the state championship, I will focus on recruiting."
Darby has already taken official visit to NC State and Iowa. He will also visit Florida, Miami and Tennessee.
"The Iowa and NC State visits were about the same. I really like the coaches and the players at both schools. I did feel really comfortable at both places. Iowa seemed to have better academics and NC State seemed to have better facilities. I will also visit UF, UM and Tennessee but I can't remember the dates right now. Right now everything is pretty even with recruiting."
