Zook Gets X-Mas Commitment

On Christmas day, Florida Head Coach Ron Zook got a big present. A 6-4 and 290 pound defensive tackle committed to the Gator Head Coach.

The Florida Gators picked up their sixth commitment of this recruiting season from defensive tackle Brandon Daniel. Daniel, from Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely High School, committed to Coach Ron Zook on Christmas day.

"They have everything to offer," said an excited Daniel. "Florida has great academics and athletics. They also have a young team that has a chance at some championships."

Daniel will graduate from high school sometime in early January and enroll at Florida shortly after that. He visited the Gators last weekend and wanted to commit then but he had to wait until Florida admissions accepted him for this next semester. They did and he committed to UF.

"It was still a difficult decision but I am excited at the opportunity at Florida. I feel that getting to practice this spring will be huge for me. I am really looking forward to the workouts and spring ball. That is such a big advantage."

Daniel, now 6-4 and 290 pounds, committed to Florida over Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and NC State. This season, he had over 80 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
