California QB Likes the Gators

QB Matt Gutierrez will likely trip to Florida. He is one of the country's top signal callers.

"My top four schools are Oregon (10-20), Florida, Michigan and Tennessee," said quarterback Matt Gutierrez. I will set up visits to Florida, Michigan and Tennessee. I might take a visit to Stanford. That is pretty much my five schools but I have no leader."

Gutierrez quarterbacks one of the nation's top teams in Concrod (Cal.) De La Salle High School. He participated in the nation's top quarterback camp in California as well, the prestigious Elite 11 camp. One of the teams he really is looking hard at are the Florida Gators. Here is what he had to say about the program from Gainesville, Florida.

"I really like the way Spurrier produces quarterbacks," said Gutierrez. "He gets them ready for the next level. They have some good ones there but there will be competition everywhere. I know if I work hard, I will get my opportunity to quarterback that team. Plus, the University of Florida has strong academics."

Gutierrez, 6-4 and 208 pounds, carries a 3.3 grade point average and has already scored a 1070 SAT.
