McDonald Commits to Florida

Defensive line prospect Ray McDonald commits to Florida.

The Florida Gators picked up a verbal commitment from Ray McDonald. He stars for the Florida high school power house Belle Glades (Fla.) Central. They are ranked number one in the state of Florida in Class 3A.

"I grew up a Florida fan," said McDonald. Since I was little, they were like my adapted team. I just love that place. My father played for them (Ray, Sr.). I looked at some other schools but I knew in my heart where I wanted to go to school. I couldn't choose another school over Florida."

McDonald, 6-4 and 245 pounds, could play either end or tackle on the defensive line. On the season, he has 102 tackles and 21 sacks. Central hosts Naples (Fla.) Barron Collier High School in the first round of the playoffs on Friday night.
