The Swamp Was Rockin'

What did the recruits have to say about the Swamp? It was rockin' Saturday night. Here is what Buster Davis and Leon Washington had to say about the game between Florida State and Florida.

Florida/Florida State was a huge game this weekend for more reasons than one. Yes a lot is on the line on the field, but the same can be said in regards to recruiting. Two unofficial visitors in attendance were linebacker Buster Davis and the do it all athlete Leon Washington. Both walked away very impressed.

"Loud can not rightfully describe how noisy the Swamp was," said Davis. "I mean it was so loud. That is a great football atmosphere. It was also a pleasure to meet Coach (Steve) Spurrier."

Right now, it was not enough for Davis, as he continues to list Nebraska (11-10) and Florida State as his co-favorites. He also likes Ohio State (12-14), Southern Cal (1-25) and Tennessee (1-18). The linebacker from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland High School, is one of the most coveted prospects at that position in the country.

Washington, a running back, receiver, cornerback prospect from Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson, echoed the same statements as Davis.

"That crowd was so loud," said Washington. "It was a great college football atmosphere for a Saturday night. I had a great time. But Florida State is still me leader over Florida, Oklahoma, and Michigan State."

Washington plans on setting up his visits real soon. Their season just ended with a playoff loss to Lake City (Fla.) Columbia.
