Jimtavis Walker commits to the Florida Gators. He is a running back prospect from Statesboro, Georgia.

Florida picked up a verbal commitment from running back Jimtavis Walker. Walker, 5-10 and 205 pounds, plays for Statesboro High School in South Georgia. He picked the Gators over Alabama.

"I have been a big Florida fan since I was little," said Walker. "Florida has a strong program in both academics and athletics and I really like their coaching staff. I have a real good friend and former teammate at Alabama (LB Jason Rawls). He is my buddy but I like Florida."

Walker has led Statesboro to an undefeated season. They are 11-0 and they face Thomas County Central in the playoffs Friday night. On the season, Walker has rushed the ball 196 times for 1,578 yards and scored 28 touchdowns.

"I am a versatile back that can run over you or around you."

Walker has taken unofficial visits to Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Auburn. He will officially visit Florida on January 11th.
