Coming off of this trip he was asked if there had been any change in his preferences. "No sir, I still like Florida the best. Everyone else right now is second."
The high school season is right around the corner and the all-star tightend that caught 14 TD's last tells us what he is looking forward to. "I am playing defensive end and tight end. I plan on having a good season. They want to play every down on both sides of the ball." He is a workout warrior as we can tell by his build. "I work out with the team and on my own. I just got my own sled and this week I plan to start using that."
The schools that are recruiting him the hardest are Florida, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU. On the coaches he likes to talk to, he said: "Coach Zook from Florida, Coach Christobal from Miami, Coach Witt from Auburn, Coach Wyatt and Coach Shula from Alabama, and Coach Saban from LSU."
As far as his travel plans during football season, he said, "I plan on seeing Florida play Florida State," We caught him off guard with that question and don't think he has had time to sit down and see a schedule of games he wants to visit. He plans on taking all of his visits and making a decision late in the process.
We find it somewhat telling and maybe a little surprising his high level of interest in Florida just after his visit to LSU. The word is that some are recruiting him as a defensive end, but Gabe wants to play tight end at the next level. H could excel at both, but his size, speed, and strength is the closest thing to Ben Troupe we have seen lately. We really think the Gators are in this one for the long haul. Whoever gets this beast of a tight end is going to blessed with a stellar athlete.
