RECRUITING: Ryan Reynolds talks about UF visit

One of the nation's top defensive prospects took his second official visit this past weekend. Ryan Reynolds, a five-star linebacker from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman High School, visited Florida.

"I really liked it a lot," said Reynolds. "I got to hang out with Derrick (Williams) and see the Swamp (UF hosted Kentucky). The Swamp is hard to beat and I was very impressed. I also like the coaches – Coach (Ron) Zook and Coach (Mike) Locksley. They are good people. After the game I had dinner with the linebackers coach (Bill Miller). Florida is a good opportunity for me because of their linebacker situation. They want me to play SAM or WILL."

It was unfortunate for both Florida and Reynolds that his trip was cut short because of Hurricane Jeane. The hurricane hit Florida last night and Reynolds and his father had to leave Gainesville for Atlanta to catch another flight to Las Vegas earlier today.

"We had to leave really a day early so we could get a flight back home so we had to make a drive to Atlanta. So, I really didn't have a lot of time there. Still, it was a great experience."

So how does his trip to Florida compare with his first official visit he made earlier this season to Norman, Oklahoma?

"I liked them both a lot. I would say they were both just great. Right now I think everyone is about equal"

Reynolds will visit LSU for an official visit on October 30th. That's his only scheduled official visit at the moment. Who else is he considering for a visit?

"Right now I am also looking at Notre Dame, UCLA and Washington. Notre Dame is new to the list. The coaches have called me a lot and me and my father want to go see them. That would be a great opportunity."

Bishop Gorman is off to a 2-1 start on the season. This weekend they face Las Vegas (Nev.) Bonanza High School.
