RECRUITING: Morley talks about visit to UF

One of the most interesting recruits for the Gators is DB Demetrice Morley of Miami Killian High School. The very well (out)spoken Morley had one of the best single day camps in recent memory at the Florida Rising Seniors Camp in July. He turned right around early the next week and committed to the Gators. The commitment certainly brought excitement to the Gator Nation and the coaching staff. Morley visited the Gator game this weekend against Kentucky and shared a few moments with us.

The Gators had a great performance by the defense on his visit, holding Kentucky to three points and 200 yards of total offense. The defensive performance certainly must have peaked his interest, but did he enjoy the rest of his visit at his future home? "It was fun. I hung out with the players and got to know them more and the coaches too," said Demetrice Morley. What effect did Hurricane Jeanne have on his visit? "I got stuck there in Gainesville for an extra day because of the storm. I didn't even want to come back home because I got so used to it. I felt like I was already a Gator."

Not even an impending hurricane could keep the fans from showing up in support of their Gators. Although not at capacity there was still a strong turnout and plenty of noise to be heard. Morley agreed, "The crowd was good it was exciting and loud. The town is like a football town, you know they got your back 100%. The crowd hypes up the players when they are out there."

He has made fast friends with some of the players and hung out with a few of his future teammates. "Channing Crowder, Demetrice Webb, Vernell brown, Reynaldo Hill, we hung out and had a good time." Morley was also impressed with the postgame locker room scene. "After the game we went into the locker room to hear Coach Zook talk to the players. He inspired the players to get better and everything."

There were also some other high profile recruits in attendance and Morley didn't hesitate to bond with them. "I hung out with Vladimir Richard and met Derrick Williams." He told us that they all really hit it off. "I met Justin Mincey, the cousin of Jeremy, we hung out a little bit after the game."

This won't be Morley's last visit to Gainesville in the regular season because he plans on making another game or two. "My mom is supposed to be coming up for the LSU game with me and I am bringing a big crowd of recruits with me."

Morley has been a solid commitment for the Gators since he made that commitment public right here on July 13th. It can only mean good things when he is bringing other Miami recruits to Gainesville with him and talking about it in advance. The Gator fans, players, and coaches have done nothing to disappoint the high school star. In turn, he has done nothing to disappoint them.
