Was there a general sense that the other recruits enjoyed their visit to "The Swamp?" "Yeah, I think the other recruits thought the atmosphere was great and it was a great game. It was the loudest stadium I have ever been to. The ‘Orange and Blue' cheer was crazy."
He assured us that he and Gerald Williams are still committed to the University of Florida and have no intentions of looking elsewhere.
The long ride back and the late game made it necessary for Richard and his companions to leave the next day. "We stayed overnight. I got to see Coach Red and Coach Miller on Sunday. They were pretty down, but they just let me know there was room for improvement and I could come and help the team."
Richard played a game Thursday night as his team has to share a football field with another school right now. He told us he is playing well this season. "We lost, but I was doing my part, I did good. I have about 3-4 sacks (this season). It's all about chasing people down. They usually don't run my way. I get 8-9 tackles a game and 3-4 behind the line of scrimmage."
Vladimir Richard camped at the University of Florida in July and committed the day after he left with three other recruits. He had a great camp and has since been more impressive on the football field for Piper HS. The Gators have a lot to look forward to when Richard roams the football field in Orange and Blue. It sounds like he can't wait to run through the tunnel into one of the loudest stadiums in the country as part of a big game atmosphere at The Swamp.
