He enjoyed the atmosphere of the game and had an overall good time in Gainesville, "Everything went good recruiting wise. I love the stadium; the crowd can't get any better than the ‘Swamp'. It was real hype."
Demps' brother plays for LSU and many think he will be a factor when it comes to his final recruitment. Unfortunately, his brother was unable to play in the game due to an injury he suffered before the game.
It was an all-star cast of recruits at the biggest home game of the season or the Gators. Demps hung around a few familiar names, "I talked to Avery Atkins and Bryan Evans." He also made contact with the coaches on his visit. "I talked to Coach Disch and Coach Miller. Coach Disch calls me all the time and Coach Miller is the linebacker coach."
The Gators had a tough loss, but the effect on the recruits seems to be minimal at best. "It doesn't change anything. I am real strong about them because I can see myself playing there real early. I can see they will have a good team in the future. They are missing just a couple of pieces and I could be one of those missing pieces and get a championship there if I go there."
When he talks about pieces, Demps is certain to play linebacker if he comes to Florida. He told us of his position of choice, although he seemed open to one more possibility. "I would prefer inside, but if they move me outside I wouldn't trip about it."
Jon Demps is high on the wish list for the Florida Gators. He has sideline to sideline speed and arrives with a bang when he gets to the ball carrier. We look forward to following the all-star linebacker throughout the recruiting process.
