Lewis Is Zook's First Verbal

Reggie Lewis becomes the first commitment for new Florida Head Coach Ron Zook.

A future trivia question might be who was Ron Zook's first commitment in the recruiting wars? The answer is Reggie Lewis. Lewis, a wide receiver/ cornerback prospect from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High School, had previously been committed to the LSU Tigers.

"I visited Florida this past weekend and it was just a great visit," said Lewis. "I came home to talk about it with my family and we decided that Florida was the best place for me. I want to stay close to home and I really like the new coaching staff at Florida. Coach Zook seems like a great guy and I love his personality. LSU came by the school this morning and I told them I was going to Florida instead."

Ken Tookes, a teammate of Reggie Lewis, is also committed to Florida.
