When asked where he planned to take official visits Smith replied:
"Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and Miami." Smith was then asked what the chances are that Florida would get a look. "It's a big chance. I mean, you do your job, I'll do my job. That's what it is. I'm looking forward to doing it (meeting with Meyer). Right now, my season is over now and I just want to go to the all star game and do what I've been doing all year. I'll play in the Florida/Cal. I didn't get selected for the US Army game, It's not big thing, I'm alright with it. I have nothing to prove. The only thing that I have to prove is to myself. I've got to get back in the weight room. I'm ready to get back in the weight room. I'll run track also. I run the 100 and the 200. Last year, I was limited with my ankle injury. But, this year I want to take it all. I finished second as a sophomore."
"This was the ultimate goal right here. I put everything else on hold, the recruiting process so that I could lead my team to a state championship. Starting tomorrow ya'll will start calling. Miami's called me since I've been up here."
