Antone Smith-Pahokee Post Game Quotes

Following his final high school game Antone Smith, the star running back from Pahokee made the following comments about his future. In the game Smith finished with 276 yards and three touchdowns on twenty-five carries...

"I really don't want to talk about it (recruiting). February the second look out for it. Being that they (Florida) have Meyer coming down here, I think that he's going to turn the program around. Zook did a great job. I think that Meyer is going to do it better. (He also confirmed that Meyer has been in contact with him) I got a visit coming up next week at Auburn, it's my first official visit coming up."

When asked where he planned to take official visits Smith replied:

"Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, and Miami." Smith was then asked what the chances are that Florida would get a look. "It's a big chance. I mean, you do your job, I'll do my job. That's what it is. I'm looking forward to doing it (meeting with Meyer). Right now, my season is over now and I just want to go to the all star game and do what I've been doing all year. I'll play in the Florida/Cal. I didn't get selected for the US Army game, It's not big thing, I'm alright with it. I have nothing to prove. The only thing that I have to prove is to myself. I've got to get back in the weight room. I'm ready to get back in the weight room. I'll run track also. I run the 100 and the 200. Last year, I was limited with my ankle injury. But, this year I want to take it all. I finished second as a sophomore."

"This was the ultimate goal right here. I put everything else on hold, the recruiting process so that I could lead my team to a state championship. Starting tomorrow ya'll will start calling. Miami's called me since I've been up here."

Smith's third touchdown tied him for the Florida state single season record with former Gulliver Prep two-way star Sean Taylor (Washington Redskins)
