RECRUITING: Derrick Williams commits

Speculation has swirled for months as to where's No.2 receiver prospect was going to land. Derrick Williams, considered by many the No.1 prospect in the nation, made his decision Wednesday afternoon on ESPNEWS. With offers ranging from essentially every big school in the nation, he finally pulled the trigger.

Williams sat in front of a national audience before announcing his final 5 of Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Penn State and Florida before making his decision.

"I'm very nervous, but I'm more excited to get this over with," Williams told ESPNEWS. "I'm sure this is where I want to go."

Williams, who checks in at 6-0 193-pounds running a 4.3, finally made his decision clear.

"I'm going to the University of Penn State," he said. "I really encourage every recruit to come with me to Penn State."

As a senior, Williams ran for 1,049 yards and nine TDs, threw for 800 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns on offense and added four interceptions on defense.
