Fred Taylor, Jacksonville Jaguars
Taylor, who has exploded in the rushing game in the past several weeks, had yet another outstanding game, gaining 165 yards on 22 attempts with one touchdown. His overpowering performance helped lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to yet another close win, this time over the Green Bay Packers 28-25, and kept the team square in the playoff race.
Jack Youngblood Award: Top Defensive Performer Lito Sheppard, Philadelphia Eagles On the Cowboys final drive of the game, Sheppard intercepted Vinny Testaverde to end the Cowboys last ditch rally, helping the Philadelphia Eagles secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 12-7 win. He also had four tackles.
Mr. Two Bits Award
Bobby McCray, Jacksonville Jaguars
McCray had two tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble in the Jaguars win over the Packers on Sunday. Although Jacksonville's defense has a hard time holding on to leads at the end of games, McCray is a steady performer who makes big plays when needed.
The Red Zone
Jeff Chandler, Washington Redskins
Chandler finally showed why he was one of UF's best kickers, hitting all four of his field goal attempts with a long of 49 and both of his extra point attempts in the Redskins win over the San Francisco 49ers. Chandler accounted for more than half of Washington's 26 points and without him it would have been much more difficult for them to pull out the win.
I Wish I Were Back In Hogtown….
Jesse Palmer, New York Giants
Palmer has been inactive for 13 weeks in this current season and hasn't seen any playing time since the preseason. In fact, the last time he saw any action was when he was on The Bachelor, and we all know how that turned out.
That's Why He Ended Up In Tallahassee….
Tommy Polley, St. Louis Rams
Polley was ejected from Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after he punched Cardinals nose tackle Russell Davis on the sideline in the fourth quarter. It's good to see Florida State really does an excellent job showing their linebackers how to hit.
