Yesterday, we told you that Orlando Edgewater's Tyller
Roberts would be getting a visit from Florida
defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. We spoke with
Roberts tonight and the arch-nemesis of All-American
quarterback Mark Sanchez provided us with an overview
of their meeting.
"Coach Strong came by and spent about 15 or 20 minutes
with me today," he said. "The meeting was great. He
also spoke with Matt Hardrick
and Quinton Brown
told me to keep working hard on my test score. If I
can raise my score (ACT) four or five points I
shouldn't have any problems. I'm working now with a
teacher at my school who is tutoring me.
"He (Strong) told me that they're looking to sign four
or five defensive backs, and that I have the ability
to come in and compete for some time right away. I'm
scheduled to take the next test on February 9th. I
want to get the score and go, especially if it's
Tyller Roberts is a 6-1, 190-pound cornerback who
intercepted two passes in the CaliFlorida All-Star
Game at the Orange Bowl last Sunday evening, spurring
Florida to a 24-22 win over California.
