RECRUITING: Codrington rates UF visit a "10"

Offensive lineman Simon Codrington took his visit to Gainesville this past weekend, and with only one more visit left, the Gators left a lasting impression on the big tackle from South Miami Senior High School. spoke with the 6-7, 255-pound lineman of what his impressions were of the University of Florida.

"I liked it a lot while I was up in Gainesville and plenty of things stood out that other schools didn't have," Codrington said. "Javier [Estopinan] was my host and it was a lot of fun getting to talk to him about everything UF brings to the table."

The biggest thing that stood out to Codrington on his visit was the attention he received from the staff and players. The lineman, who gave his visit a 10, was impressed the most by new head coach Urban Meyer.

"I loved getting to talk to Coach Meyer," Codrington said. "There hasn't been one coach that I've met yet that talked to me so much and gave me so much attention. I've never been on a trip where I've been able to see the head coach so much."

Codrington said he was blown away by The Swamp and the campus at the University of Florida. He took advantage of the chance to meet new offensive line coach John Hevesy and said it pointed in the Gators favor that they had one in place, as opposed to Florida State.

"It means a lot that I know who would be coaching me, and Coach Hevesy is a dedicated guy," Codrington said. "The fact that FSU doesn't have an offensive line coach in place really sucks."

Simon Codrington isn't ready to name a leader just yet and said at some point following his West Virginia visit this upcoming weekend he would be ready to decide on a school.
