This past weekend, Simpson was in Florida for his last official visit.
"It was great. I liked it a lot down there. I really like the coaching staff and a few of the players that I hung out with. The stadium really stood out to me. The one thing that is a downfall for Florida, they don't have a running backs coach yet. I want to at least talk to my position coach that I will be around for the next 4-5 years. Coach Meyer told me they hoped to have one by the end of this week."
It now appears three schools are in the mix for Simpson's signature.
"It's real tight between those three schools. I am trying to visit with all the coaches, and talk with them one last time, before I make my decision. I will inform the coaches Friday or Saturday night. I will announce at a press conference next Wednesday, where I am going," said Simpson.
The four star back faces a tough decision in the next few days. He knows what matters in his decision.
"I am mainly looking at the depth chart and early playing time. I want to be able to go in and play early. Distance will not play any factor in my decision, at all."
Three teams are dead locked for Simpson's signature.
Alabama: "I just really like the situation at Alabama. I have a chance for early playing time. The environment at Alabama is strictly football."
Virginia: "I like the West Coast offense. It gives the back a chance to catch passes down the field. I really like that. They are a program on the rise, and they have a top ten recruiting class."
Florida: "I like their wide open attack offense. I like Coach Urban Meyer and the new coaching staff."
Simpson expects visits from the Virginia and Florida coaches later this week.
