"It would be great if my family could come to all my home games," said Stamper.
Also mentioned was the chance to play college football with former First Coast stars Reggie Lewis and Kenneth Tookes as well as former teammate, Mike McIntosh. But probably the most important reason they gave him is the very realistic chance for early playing time due to the current state of the Gator's linebacker depth chart.
"They have a real good situation at linebacker and that's a very important part of what I will consider," Stamper stated enthusiastically.
Stamper came away from his visit with new Gator head coach, Urban Meyer, with a very favorable impression.
"Coach Meyer is a really cool guy and is very easy to talk to. I really enjoyed it a lot. But you can also tell he's all about business," Stamper observed.
The four star linebacker has discussed the possibility of going to the University of Florida with high school friends and former teammates, Lewis, Tookes and McIntosh. He admits they've been working him for UF.
"Yeah, they talk to me quite a bit and it would be great to be able to play with them again. They have some really good things to say about Florida but tell me to just follow my heart and I'll be happy," said Stamper.
Ryan Stamper has received a qualifying score on the ACT and maintains a 3.4 GPA in the classroom. He will be hosted on his visit by former teammate, Mike McIntosh.
Stay tuned for an update on his visit to the University of Florida. Gator Country will be talking to him when he returns home Sunday afternoon.
