RECRUITING: Visit affirms Baker's commitment to UF

Kalvin Baker has been a Gator fan favorite for some time now and his visit to Gainesville this weekend simply re-affirmed everything for the 6-1, 235-pound linebacker from Columbus (GA) Pacelli who is rated four stars by

"I like everything," he said. "Everything was good. My hosts were the twins (Jermaine and Tremaine McCollum). They showed me a good time."

Just to make sure that no one reads anything into last weekend's trip to Clemson, Baker said firmly, "I'm still committed. I'm still a Gator."

On campus in Gainesville, Baker had a chance to get acquainted with Coach Urban Meyer and his staff.

"They were pretty cool," he said. "I like Coach Meyer and the staff. We are going to have a good team next year."

Baker got to meet Chris Leak and many of his future Gator teammates, plus he was able to speak on the phone to Channing Crowder. He felt comfortable with everyone, noting, "I fit in real good with them."

When academics were served up on the visit, Kalvin received his fill.

"I got all my questions answered," he said. "I'm going to major in sports management."

GATOR COUNTRY TAKE: Kalvin Baker is one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Georgia. He has a chance to make an immediate impact at Florida. This is a very solid commitment.
