RECRUITING: Dorian Munroe commits to Florida

Dorian Munroe took a trip to Gainesville this weekend and he's come back with some big time news for Florida fans.

"I've just de-committed from Florida State to the Florida Gators. I just feel it's a better opportunity and a better atmosphere for me. I enjoy the young coaching staff and they really want to win. I can see him turning them into a National Championship program in one or two years," said Monroe, the outstanding safety/corner prospect from Miami Coral Reef.

What does he like most about Gainesville?

"I love the fact that it's a real college town. They rank Ben Hill Griffin the number one stadium in the land. It's just amazing."

Kyle Jackson hosted Dorian on his trip.

"Kyle is a good down to earth guy. He's very down to earth and humble. I can see why he's so successful."

There were a lot of highlights about his on campus tour.

"My visit was real tight and everything stood out to me," he said. "The team atmosphere and the academics were all top notch. Coach (Urban) Meyer is a real energetic guy who I know is going to do great things in Gainesville."

The commitment to Florida has definitely changed the atmosphere for Dorian Munroe, who says about recruiting: "I'd say I'm done now. FSU is going to offer some other safeties now that I have committed to Florida. They told me they were glad I went ahead and let them know instead of making them wait."
