Crowder Couldn't Wait; Commits to Florida

Channing Crowder was supposed to announce his decision on Wednesday. But he was so excited about the Gators, he decided to commit to Florida on Sunday night.

Channing Crowder was so excited about the Florida visit, he couldn't wait until Wednesday to make the decision. Tonight, he committed to the University of Florida.

"I was sitting in my room, lying down in bed and all I could think about was being a Gator," said Crowder. "I just felt so comfortable with Coach Zook and that staff. I just called up Georgia and told them I am going to Florida. I couldn't wait any longer."

Crowder, from North Springs (Ga) Sandy Springs, committed to Florida over Georgia. He is a middle linebacker prospect that is very close to the Snell (Ray and Shannon) brothers. They grew up together in Tampa and are God brothers.

"It was amazing," said Crowder, of his official visit to Florida. "It was so nice to see Shannon and Ray Snell. They are my God-brothers and they were also my hosts for the weekend. We all grew up together in Tampa.

"I also like the linebacker coach Jerry Odom. He tells it like it is. And coach Zook is amazing. That guy has a lot of energy."
