"I liked it," he said. "I enjoyed it a lot. I learned a lot about the school because I didn't really know that much about it. I liked the atmosphere and the feeling of thinking about playing in Gainesville and 'The Swamp' on Saturdays."
He will have a quick week of school this week as he heads out early for his next official visit. "I'm leaving for Notre Dame on Thursday and I will be back Saturday night," he said. "I have my football banquet on Sunday."
He is well aware that time is passing quickly and a decision is expected in one week on national signing day. He says that when he returns from Notre Dame he will, "Sit down with my parents and try and come to a decision then. If not, I will work on it during the week."
He hopes to have his decision made no later than Monday.
"The school [he signs with] will know on Sunday or Monday, but I will announce on signing day," he said.
While Roche had a positive experience at Florida, he's not ready to name a clear leader.
"Louisville and Florida are my top schools right now," Roche said. "I have to see what Notre Dame has to offer."
At one point he was committed to Rutgers, and he's had a positive experience with Coach Chuck Amato at NC State.
"I liked N.C. State," he said, "but my top two are probably Louisville and Florida. Those two are real close and they move back and forth like every day."
He's been visited each day by coaches from his favorite schools. He's become a hot prospect and his decision will make one school happy and at least three others quite disappointed.
GATOR COUNTRY TAKE: The Gators definitely have a shot at landing Brian Roche. He certainly has a connection at Louisville and it's possible he may have committed there. I'm not sure how strong he's connected to Notre Dame, but his early commitment to Rutgers and his offer list early make me think the connection's not so huge. Coach (Steve) Addazio has visited him already since his visit to Gainesville, so the Gators are definitely letting the big man know he's high on their wish list.
