Codrington: Visits from Old Legend & Urban Legend

South Miami offensive lineman Simon Codrington has had what many would call a taste of the Sunshine State today. After receiving an in home visit from Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden Thursday afternoon, Codrington received a visit from Gators Coach Urban Meyer Thursday evening.

"The visit went really well with Coach Meyer," said Codrington, rated three stars by Scout.com. "We talked about everything --- playing time, and life in Gainesville especially. He said that they really need me up there."

After getting to talk to both head coaches, the 6-7, 260-pound tackle remains evasive about what choice he will make. He is quite hopeful that by Monday or Tuesday he will know so he can announce Wednesday on signing day.

"They are both really different guys in there own respects," Codrington said, comparing the coaches. "Coach Meyer is a real energetic guy and his youth is something I can relate to. Coach Bowden is knows a lot as well since he's been coaching for so long."

Simon Codrington has a 2.5 GPA and has scored 920 on his SAT so he is fully qualified. In addition to Florida and Florida State, Codrington has visited West Virginia, Auburn and North Carolina State.

GATOR COUNTRY TAKE: Figure this one will be a battle between Florida and Florida State. Both the Gators and the Seminoles have Codrington very high on their recruiting boards and both of them have made the big guy a priority recruit. With Chris Scott committing to Tennessee Wednesday night, it makes Codrington all that more important to the Florida Gators.
