Florida's Jordan Dolberg and Ryan Sherry were trailing Furman's Scott Kahler and Kevin Lackey on court three 7-5, before evening things and eventually claiming a tiebreaker to win their match 9-8 (6). Within second, UF's Hamid Mirzadeh and Chris Brandi provided the clincher as they were pushed by Furman's Allen Simmons and Andy Sobczyk on court one before coming away with an 8-6 victory.
Redshirt junior Ryan Sherry quickly gave Florida a 2-0 lead as he defeated Sobczyk on court six 6-2, 6-0 in 50 minutes. Through his first two matches of the season, Sherry has not given up more than two games to his opponent in any set.
Mirzadeh stretched things to 3-0 when he defeated Pahluhn, 6-1, 6-3 on court one. Ten minutes later the Stefan Tell gave the Gators the win as he defeated Furman's B.J. James, 6-0, 6-3 on court five.
Brandi made it a 5-0 a match in Florida's favor when he defeated Greg Maarschalk on court three, 6-1, 6-4. The position matched the highest Brandi has ever played in his Florida career (vs. UCLA, Feb. 6, 2004).
Briceno fell behind in both sets against Brennan Phillips, 5-3 in the first and 4-1 in the second before going on to win both by a score of 7-5. Obradovic rounded out the list of UF's winners as he posted a 6-3, 7-5 win over Simmons on court two.
Florida makes its first road trip of the season as the Gators visit ninth-ranked Duke on Sunday at 1 p.m. UF will take on the Blue Devils in the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center on campus
