Florida Gator Basketball

Ugly wins are prettiest this time of year
You let a team hang around and the calls matter. You outshoot and outrebound them but don't take care of the ball and butterflies are hatching in thousands of stomachs.

Playoff atmosphere
Anthony Roberson torments Vandy again in a game won with defense. Through the missed free throws, the turnovers, and some unwatchable offensive stretches, Florida stayed with a game it needed in its march toward a seventh straight season of extended play in March.

Florida 69, Vanderbilt 61
No matter what the Vanderbilt Commodores try to do to stop Anthony Roberson, the junior guard finds ways to score.

Gators in good shape, for now
Florida entered Wednesday night's game against Vanderbilt on the inside of the NCAA Tournament bubble looking out.

Ugly, but effective UF struggles, gets rescued by Roberson
They had trouble holding onto the ball, they struggled from the 3-point line and their coach lost his composure. Despite all that, the Florida Gators were still able to beat Vanderbilt 69-61 in front of 10,814 at the O'Connell Center on Wednesday night.

Gators Grind It Out
David Lee muscled through the mosh pit in the lane late in Wednesday's second half and grabbed Anthony Roberson's miss.

Gators recover, stop Vanderbil
This was an emotion Florida wasn't supposed to feel anymore. Not this late in the season. And especially not at home.

Physical UF 'needed a win'
What started out as an Anthony Roberson lovefest nearly turned into a Florida nightmare

Gators bolster hopes for bye
Florida's hopes for a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament received another boost when the Gators beat Vanderbilt 69-61 on Wednesday at the O'Connell Center.

Gators bounce Vanderbilt
Florida's 69-61 win against Vanderbilt on Wednesday night was not the prettiest sight for basketball purists. But to the Gator players it was nothing short of beautiful.

Leaders step up in crucial UF win
With his team trailing by one with 61/2 minutes left in a critical home game, Florida guard Anthony Roberson had one thought running through his head.

Foul performance paves way to loss
With Orlando just down the road, it was fitting that the officials last night whistled while they worked

Hard road for Vandy
Anthony Roberson is the John Smoltz of the Southeastern Conference. Need a starter? He's your man. Need a closer? He's your man.

Florida Lady Gator Basketball

Seniors know it's crunch time
Tashia Morehead was so nervous in her first home game as a Florida Gator she could barely sit still. Then, the O'Connell Center lights shut off for Florida's pre-game introductions. Nerves bounced through Morehead's body like a hundred basketballs.
