A Father's Day Surprise - Gators Add Another

Corey Hobbs is a member of the South Hot 100, and he could be a star on either side of the ball. He gave his dad a huge Father's Day present when he made his college decision.

"I committed to Florida Yesterday," said Corey Hobbs. "I've known for a while that's where I wanted to go, but I wanted to make sure I made the right decision. I actually committed to Florida three weeks ago, but I kept it a secret, so I could surprise my dad on Father's Day. I called Coach Meyer, and Coach Meyer told my dad. He was amazed and didn't know what to say," added Hobbs with a laugh.

Hobbs is a member of the South Hot 100 as an offensive lineman, but he could star on either side of the ball. The Gators are wanting him to come in on defense.

"They've been recruiting me to play the three technique at defensive tackle. That's what Coach Mattison has told me about coming in. I think Florida is the best choice for me. I'm real excited about seeing them this year. They're on the rise, and I want to win a National Championship. I think with Coach Meyer, Coach Mattison, and the rest of the staff they can do that. I love Florida, and my whole family is behind me on this one."

Hobbs left little doubt about how firm his commitment is to Florida.

"I'm going to be at all of the home games this year. I'll take my official visit for the Florida State or Tennessee game, because that will be two of their biggest games."

Hobbs is a big man, and the Florida Gators have picked up another big commitment.
