RECRUITING: Big New Leader for FL Star

Bryan Thomas is one of the best players in the south that we've talked sparingly about thus far in the process. The Zephyrhills athlete has already picked up 12 offers and he's a heavy lean to one of the in-state powers down in Florida. Who is it?

(View Bryan's profile for video highlights!)

"I'm leaning towards three schools right now. I like Tennessee, Ohio State and the University of Florida but Florida is number one for me. I'm familiar with the area. I love the coaching staff, the facilities and the campus. I like the classes for the undergrads and overall I just really, really like it," Bryan Thomas said.

Just how big of a lead do the Gators have?

"I'm leaning towards making a commitment soon. I don't want to wait but my parents want me to wait and make sure. They want me see some more schools up close instead of just deciding based on the program and the football."

Thomas has found the new UF staff to his liking.

"Coach Mullen recruits me for them but I stay in touch with Coach Meyer a lot also. I like their personality and they're just real with you. They don't beat around the bush."

Why have the Volunteers and Buckeyes also earned slots in his top 3?

Tennessee: "The coaching staff seems great. One of the people in our community went to school there and he liked his time playing football for them."

Ohio State: "I like the media guide and the newsletters they send me. Ryan Pickett is on my case about it also. He lives around the corner from me and he plays for the St. Louis Rams now."

A dozen different programs have already expressed interest in signing the versatile prospect.

"I have 12 offers total from Tennessee, West Virginia, Duke, Nebraska, Ohio State, Iowa, Indiana, Connecticut, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida International and the University of Florida."

Bryan Thomas is certainly a player you'll be hearing more and more about as we head through the summer months.
