RECRUITING: Top Six For A.J. Jones

Four star linebacker A.J. Jones, from Middleton High School in Tampa (Fl), is one of the most sought after recruits in the country. Schools from coast-to-coast are vying for his signature. Six schools are in the running for his services.

"In no particular order, my favorites are LSU, Florida, USC, Alabama, Auburn, and Ohio State," said A.J. Jones. "I don't have any overall favorites."

The four star prospect discusses his favorites.

LSU: "I haven't been there yet, but I have heard a lot about their facilities. The coaches always stay in touch. I have seen them play on television, and I like their style of play."

Florida: "I have been up there four or five times already this summer. I like the atmosphere. It's a fun place to be, and I really like the coaches."

USC: "They are the national champions. They produce a lot of great NFL talent."

Alabama: "I like the Crimson Tide because of their defense. They play very aggressive. I met Coach Mike Shula. He seems like a cool guy."

Auburn: "They are also another school that produces a lot of NFL talent. I like their aggressive defense also."

Ohio State: "The Buckeyes have been recruiting me very hard. I like their coaches."

A.J. Jones plans to wait until after his five official visits before making a decision, but will look closely at several different aspects.

"I will look at the academics. I want to know all about where I will spend the next four to five years of my life. I want to find a place that has a good church where I can go to. I will look at the coaches and the program. I definitely will wait until after all of my visits before making a decision," said Jones.

The 6-1, 190-pounder has used the summer to work on his speed and is a weight room warrior.

"The summer is going really good," Jones said. "I have my bench up to 315 pounds, and I have my forty down to a 4.49. The team is looking good."

Jones will attend his last camp this Friday at Florida's Friday Night Lights camp.
