Profle 2003 - Andre Caldwell (WR)
When it comes to receivers, the state of Florida is notorious for pumping out some great players. This season will be no different. One wideout you will be hearing a lot about is Andre Caldwell from Tampa (Fla.). Jefferson. He is the younger brother of former Gator standout wide receiver Reche Caldwell.
"Reche works with me all the time," said Andre. "He has taught me how to prepare for the game both mentally and physically. It has not always been that way. But since he has started to help me, I have noticed my game getting a lot better."
I'll say. Caldwell had a terrific junior season, catching 52 passes for over 1,100 yards and 16 scores. "I think I am a playmaker like my brother. I am good after the catch but there are things I still need to work on like my route running."
When it comes to recruiting, Caldwell has one offer and one favorite at this time and he always has his older brother to lean on for advice. "Southern Cal has offered me a scholarship but my favorite team is Florida. They are at the top of my list but I also like FSU and Miami.
"Reche has basically told me not to let the schools pressure me, think hard about everything, and look at everyone. He also said for me not to commit early. I want to find a great offensive scheme."
Caldwell also says he is considering LSU and Oklahoma. He will
attend the Florida spring football game. Caldwell also plans on going
to the Nike Camp in Miami.
