RECRUITING: Minor gives Miami the edge

Richmond (Va.) running back Brandon Minor (6-1, 210, 4.5) still says Miami, Florida and Michigan are his top three schools, with the 'Canes edging out the others, but he's also added Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU and Virginia Tech to that trio.

"I added those schools so that I would have more of my options open to me while I start setting up official visits," said Minor, from Varina High School.

"I'm going to get out to Virginia Tech for an unofficial before the summer ends so that I can go see some of my friends start practicing and give them some support. I haven't set up any official visits yet and I'm looking to start doing that in August," he said.

"Florida is recruiting me the hardest out of all of these schools. All of these schools call me a lot and try and contact me and stuff, but they just do it the most. I talk with the coaches a lot there. I've established some close relationships with those coaches, and at this point, we speak to each other like friends.

"The running back situation at Miami is still looking good for me because they're lacking at that position, so I've got a chance for some early playing time.

"I like how Michigan likes to run the ball a lot and they've also been a child hood favorite of mine along with Florida too.

"The depth at running back at any of these schools doesn't matter to me because I feel that if I work hard enough I can get playing time or start at all of these programs if I wanted to."
