RECRUITING: Hornsby will decide in mid-season

Jacksonville (Fla.) wide receiver Jamar Hornsby (6-4, 195, 4.5) still says Florida is his leader. Urban Meyer's outfit has led for quite a while.

"I've got some heavy interest in the Gators' program right now," said Hornsby, from Sandalwood High School.

"I just like their program right now. I haven't taken any visits anywhere yet and all this could change after I've taken a couple officials, but right now I'm leaning towards them," he said.

"The coaches at Florida are great and I know that I don't have to take an official visit there because I can go there anytime really.

"I also have a lot of interest in USC, Michigan, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Ohio State and all have offered me. I'll probably want to take official visits to USC, Michigan and Ohio State because they're all so far away from where I live.

"I need to make a decision early…probably sometime around the middle of the season, because I plan on graduating in December. I should be setting up some official visits in the next couple of weeks," said Hornsby.

"I kind of know right now that I want to get out there and see USC and Michigan, but with Ohio State…I just don't see myself fitting in there really. I'm friends with Maurice Wells (05' Ohio State signee/tailback and former team-mate) and he's really encouraged me to give it a look--so that's what I'm going to do. He and I are friends, but that won't factor into me making my decision. I want to go to a school that is right for me," he said.

2.7 GPA/scores still unreported from May SAT--will retest in October--"I really haven't received my scores yet. They just haven't gotten them to me. My mom has been calling the school to figure out what has happened to them."
