RECRUITING: Jamar Hornsby sets official to Florida

Jamar Hornsby is one of the most highly sought after players in the country this season and he has now set his first official visit. Jamar will visit the Florida Gators this weekend.

(Jamar Hornsby profile)

"I just set my official to visit to Florida Saturday. I talked to Coach Meyer and Coach Gonzalez. They just said they want me and that it's going to be a big game. I want to be in the Gator Walk. I heard it's going to be crazy. I'm looking forward to going down there," Jamar Hornsby said.

Hornsby has already been to a Florida game once this year so he knows a little bit about what he can expect.

"I went to the Wyoming game and I could literally not hear myself talk."

What have the Gators told him about possible playing time?

"They think I can come in and play early down there. I know the coaches think there will be some playing time there. If Dallas Baker has a real good year then that would open up a whole of lot of spots. I know Chad (Jackson) and Bubba (Caldwell) are leaving most likely."

Jamar is still considering 5 other schools as well.

"I'm also looking at Tennessee, Michigan, USC and probably Auburn. I like Georgia a little bit also."

What stands out about those teams?

Tennessee: "They're known for putting receivers in the NFL. It's a pretty good school."

Michigan: "They have a real good QB right now in Chad Henne. I got to talk to him a little bit and I'll probably get that number 1 jersey."

USC: "That's just self-explanatory. It's a great school."

Auburn: "Something just sparks me about Auburn. I talked to Jacques Rickerson and he said it's a pretty good school. He likes it down there."

Georgia: "I'm from Georgia. So I always have to keep Georgia in the picture."

It appears the 5-star athlete from Jacksonville is really getting close to decision time. Who will sign him? Stay tuned to to find out…
