School Preferences - Southern Cal leads Tennessee, Florida, UCLA, Notre Dame
Profle 2003 - Kyle Wright (QB)
The state of California is a breeding ground for quarterbacks and this season will be no different. One of the top signal callers is Kyle Wright from Danville (Cal.) Monte Vista High School. He is a prototype QB with terrific size.
"I think I have what the colleges are looking for," said Wright. "I am a student of the game and I have good size, a good arm and footwork. I know I need to work on everything to make the next step. I have a drive to become the best player I can. I know have to improve every aspect of my game."
Last season as a junior, Wright threw for over 3,000 yards and 26 TD passes in leading his team to the championship (North Coast Section). And the colleges have taken notice. According to Wright, he has scholarship offers from Southern Cal, UCLA, California and Stanford. LSU is on the verge on an offer.
"Southern Cal is my leader. I was there this past weekend. Their coaching staff is amazing and Coach (Norm) Chow is an offensive guru who has coached some great quarterbacks. I want to go where I fit in the best. Right now, I also like UCLA, Florida, Tennessee and Notre Dame. My parents will support any decision I make. I have to like to coaching staff and playing time is also important. Plus, I would like to go to a school rich in tradition. Academics is very important too. I am looking at Business and Economics to study."
Wright has already unofficially visited Southern Cal, UCLA, Washington, Cal., and Stanford.
