"I'm up to about 35 offers," said Barrie. "Tennessee and Notre Dame are my two newest offers. Notre Dame was the first school to call me on the first. They called me at 5:00 AM. I appreciate the call, but that was a little too early. I've also gotten calls from USC, Florida State, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Miami, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. Those were a few that called me on the first."
Barrie has been busy checking out some of the schools close to home.
"I went to the Florida State/Miami game. I got a chance to talk with all of the coaches including Coach Bobby Bowden. It was exciting getting the chance to talk with him. I went to the Florida/Tennessee game over the weekend. I got to talk with Coach Gonzalez before the game. I had a great time there. The fans were absolutely going nuts. That was a great game. The atmospheres at the two games were about equal. Both had a rivalry game, and the stadiums were very loud."
With two unofficial visits under his belt, Barrie has now set up two official visits.
"I'm going to Florida State for an official some time in January. I also have a visit set up with Michigan on November 18th, the weekend they play Ohio State."
Barrie's Berkeley Prep team is off to a fast start, and Barrie has been a big reason why.
"Right now we're 3-1. We had a bye last weekend, but we play Tampa Catholic this weekend. I've been grading out at 94%. I've also been playing a little defensive line in goal line situations. I have about 30 pancake blocks on the season."
