Profile 2003 - Jordy Lipsey

Lake Brantley center prospect Jordy Lipsey is one of the state's top OLs. He already has a scholarship offer from Florida and a bunch of other schools.

Perhaps the top center prospect in the state of Florida is Jordy Lipsey. Lipsey plays for Lake Brantley High School in Longwood near Orlando. According to Lipsey, Miami, Florida, Northwestern, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Boston College, and Wake Forest have offered him a scholarship.

"I like those schools and Virginia as well," said Lipsey. "I went to Stanford last weekend. It was great, the weather was great and the coaches are very nice. That is one of the best overall schools in the country.

"I want to pick a place where I can play early and win. Distance will not matter. I want to compete at the highest level of academics and athletics."

Lipsey, 6-4 and 268 pounds, has played center since the 5th grade. Obviously he has grown comfortable with that position.

"I am the quarterback of the offensive line. I make all the calls. I have good speed, quickness, strength, power and technique. It has helped playing the same position for a long time."

Lipsey will visit Florida unofficially next weekend and Northwestern during the summer. So far, he has seen Stanfrod, Miami, Vandy and Virginia unofficially.
