Florida, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn are the schools at the top of the list for Davis, who is rated four stars by Scout.com. He's been timed at 4.49 in the 40 yard dash so his speed alone will draw plenty of interest. He looks at things from a different perspective.
"I am looking for a school where I can fit in and be focus on school and athletics," said Davis, who added that his goal is to find a place where he can "get along with the coaches and teammates."
He's already taken one of his five official visits. He spent a weekend in Raleigh to check out NC State. He was impressed with what he saw.
"I liked the visit," he said. "I got a chance to talk to the coaches and some players to get their point of view of their school."
He talked briefly about the other schools on his favorite's list:
FLORIDA: "I like talking to the coaches. Coach Urban Meyer is a good coach. He seems to be in the right state."
Davis said he may not take an official visit to Gainesville since he's been there before and it's just a short drive away.
"I may take an unofficial visit to Florida, I talked to the coaches and they told me all the information I need," he said.
TENNESSEE: "Tennessee is graduating four linebackers this year. I could go in there and get an opportunity to play right away."
GEORGIA: "They lost a lot of linebackers, I like Coach John Jancek he is real cool. He is upfront with me when I talk to him."
AUBURN: "I'm going to take an official visit to find out more about them. They are a good team, that's what I do know. Coach David Gibbs seems real cool."
