Baker Still Waiting

Wide receiver Dallas Baker has waited a long time to become a Florida Gator. He will soon find out whether he gets to enroll this summer or start all over again with the ACT.

Dallas Baker has been waiting a long time to officially become a Florida Gator. Baker, a wide receiver from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, originally signed with Florida in February of 2001. He failed to qualify and went on to attend Northfield Mount Herman Prep School in Massachusetts.

"I played pretty well," said Baker. "But I went there to concentrate on academics. It was good to get away and work on my academics. Hopefully, I will find out real soon."

Baker said he hopes to find out within two weeks about his test score. The test he took was the ACT. If he did not get the necessary score, he will re-take the test once again. He only needs two points.

"I plan on being there for Summer B. I have talked with the new staff at Florida and they have really encouraged me a lot. I like them. I plan on being there and making the Honor Roll. I also want to be the SEC Newcomer of the Year. I plan on making it and playing."
