Profile 2003 - Brandon Allen (WR)

Brandon Allen of Westlake High School in Atlanta, GA will unquestionably be one of the biggest targets in the south this year, both on the field and off. The swift wide receiver stands 6-5 and has a personal best of 4.5 in the forty. Those are the types of numbers that get coaches from all over the country excited, and Allen will be no exception this year. "We start spring practice next week," said Allen. "Georgia, Auburn, and Stanford are supposed to come watch me at practice."

Allen had a good season by any measure last year, but he's poised for a monster year this year. "Last season we had "Pac Man" Adam Jones on our team, who signed with West Virginia. So, I think we ran the ball 80% of the time last season. I had to make the most of my touches," Allen said with a laugh. "This year our coach said he was going to make me the focal point of the offense, and I want to get 90 catches, 1,500 yards, and 15 touchdowns this year."

The big wide receiver has camps set up for this spring and summer that include the Nike Camp in Athens, South Carolina, Auburn, and possibly Florida. "Right now as far as colleges go, I like Miami, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee the best. I'm camping at Auburn and Florida, and I'm interested in them, but they're not in my top four right now."

The Westlake star may have had to wait his turn to shine in the spotlight this year, but the big man is more than ready for the challenge.
