Alan Rick is one of nine players the Gators signed to Baseball scholarships this past recruiting season.  He is a catcher with a batting average of .370.  He also hit 7 homeruns, 6 doubles and had 25 RBI.  He currently is scheduled to attend two all-star games.  One is at Flagler College and the other is at Santa Fe in Gainesville.

Rick comments on the recruiting process and his visit to UF:  "It was good.  It was great.  They were really easy going.  My trip was really easy going and relaxing.  I met [Infielder] Justin Tordi when I was on my visit and I played with two of the pitchers [from this recruiting class].  They are all cool and down to earth kids, just regular teenagers."

Rick talks about his past season and what he is doing now to get ready for next season:  "Our season is over; we lost the other day in the first round.  What I am doing right now is taking a week off to give my body a chance to rest and then I am going to start hitting it hard and working out, trying to stay in shape."

Rick talks about some other tidbits:  "The [Gator Baseball] team is doing well; I've been keeping up with them.  I've been keeping in touch with the coaches and I have been to a few games as well."
