RECRUITING: Tampa TE to visit UF this Sunday

Tampa, Florida Tight End Trent Pupello recently received an offer from the Florida Gator coaches.

Trent Pupello, TE, 6-4, 250, TAMPA (JEFFERSON HS), FLORIDA:

JH: How is your season going?

TP: "We are 7-3 and have a bye this week. We play in the first game of the playoffs a week from Friday. I am doing well. Right now, on offense I have caught 22 passes and six touchdowns. And then on defense, I play defensive end and I have been doing pretty well. But I don't know my stats."

JH: Are you still being recruited mostly as a tight end?

TP: "Yeah, I am being recruiting as a tight end. I feel that is my best position. I really like tight end."

JH: Have to been to watch any collegiate games?

TP: "I have been to a couple Florida State games."

JH: Have you set any official visits yet?

TP: "I haven't really set any official visits yet. I am going to Florida Saturday for an unofficial visit. They offered me a couple of weeks ago and I want to check them out."

JH: What is going on in recruiting with you?

TP: "I am still interested in all the schools that are interested in me. I am still talking to Florida State, Florida, Oklahoma, Nebraska and South Florida."

JH: You are still considering three schools in the state of Florida, so would you say that there is a good chance you will state in-state?

TP: "It would be nice to stay in-state, but it is not something that I am going to let influence my decision. I want to look around and see what is out there."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

TP: "I really need to get up there and see them. I have never been there and I don't know much about them, so I need to visit them to find out more about them. I am very impressed with Bob Stoops and they have a great reputation for football. They were one of the first schools to offer me, so I need to visit them so I can see for myself what Oklahoma has to offer."
