McDaniel has Fun in Blacksburg

Although Virginia Tech had their worst performance of the season Saturday night, Damon McDaniel still managed to have an excellent official visit this past weekend.

"I had a lot fun there," said McDaniel. "It was a real good game. It was a good atmosphere to be in. Before the game, when the players walk in it's a crazy atmosphere."

In addition to soaking in the Virginia Tech-Miami game, McDaniel, a 5-foot-11, 192-pound wide out from Virginia Beach (Va.) Landstown, toured the facilities, and spent time with members of the team and the coaching staff.

In mid-September, McDaniel officially visited Florida when the Gators hosted Tennessee. According to McDaniel, both visits were enjoyable in their own way while the intensity and fan support during the games were equally impressive.

On the weekend of November 25th McDaniel will take his rescheduled official visit to LSU. He then plans to take his remaining official trips with Miami and Georgia before making a January decision.

"Nobody really stands out right now," said McDaniel, who is only considering the five aforementioned schools. "I want to get to all the places [for official visits] and decide from that."

With two division I-A recruits at wide out (Percey Harvin being the other), Landstown High School is currently ranked as high as 12th nationally, while owning a 9-0 record. Despite sharing reps with Harvin, McDaniel has still managed to pull in 68 catches for 1,285 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also has picked off two passes on defense.
